after an explosive comeback thanks to the band's new album, 'everything else has gone wrong', bombay bicycle club were preparing for a number of festival performances throughout the summer, including headline slots at all points east and truck festival, before covid-19 put an unfortunate stop to those plans.

now, the band is back with a pulsating new cover of selena gomez's 'lose you to love me' along with a reimagining of their recent single 'i can hardly speak' in the latest spotify singles release.

joined by rae morris on vocals on both tracks, the reworked 'i can hardly speak' builds layer by layer, featuring more traditional acoustic instrumentation including a string section, flute, oboe and medieval folk instrument, the hurdy gurdy. the result is a reflective, intricate reinvention - a slower-paced reworking in contrast to the band's upbeat selena gomez cover. listen here:
