irish artists grubby and cheesmore have collaborated on a project illustrating a young adult's perspective on love and relationships. using a blend of hip-hop and r&b with bedroom pop-style guitars and synths, relaxed rhythms and confessional lyricism, the 'warmish' ep is a laidback lo-fi gem that has placed the artists between brockhampton and zack villere in a spot that is entirely their own. listen here:
grubby and cheesmore initially met as recruited members of a live band and quickly became both close friends and collaborators. after cheesmore moved to the netherlands, the two helped each other out with solo material before deciding to work on a project together. 'warmish' was written and recorded almost entirely via facetime and sending each other stems, although the project's vocal intimacy and consistent production style makes the distance hard to imagine.
